Thank you so much for your interest in our choir! Auditions for Century Singers are held at the beginning of every semester for every voice part: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Please feel free to come visit any of our rehearsals to see if our choir is right for you! Spring 2024 auditions will take place up until the first week of class, or until all of our spots are filled. You can audition during the previous semester or at your New Student Conference. If neither of those opportunities work for you, just be sure to contact David Kipp (email@example.com) to set up another audition time! You can set up an audition by filling out this form.
No preparation is required for the audition. The audition includes vocalizing to determine range, singing My Country, ‘Tis of Thee (music provided) in a couple of keys, and simple sightreading. Visit the Choral Activities office at the MAC or call 979-845-5974 before or during the audition days to schedule an audition time.
Century Singers rehearse Monday through Thursday, so be sure to have the following times free on your schedule before auditioning:
Monday and Wednesday: 12:40 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 12:45 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
One credit hour is given for this ensemble pending the audition (MUSC 290-503).
The Century Singers also have a small vocal ensemble called Century Sounds. Century Sounds is a small ensemble that is auditioned from within the Century Singers as needed. Any current member of Century Singers is encouraged to audition for this group.
