Thank you so much for your interest in our choir! Auditions for Century Singers are held at the beginning of every semester for every voice part: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Please feel free to come visit any of our rehearsals to see if our choir is right for you! Spring 2020 auditions will take place up until the first week of class.
No preparation is required for the audition. The audition includes vocalizing to determine range, singing My Country, ‘Tis of Thee (music provided) in a couple of keys, and simple sightreading. Visit the Choral Activities office at the MAC or call 979-845-5974 before or during the audition days to schedule an audition time.
Even though we can’t meet in person, we are still holding fall semester auditions throughout the summer. All of our auditions will be held over Zoom with our director, and the actual audition process will be the same as it would be in person. Please email Mr. Travis Angel at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an audition time.
Century Singers rehearse Monday through Thursday, so be sure to have the following times free on your schedule before auditioning:
Monday and Wednesday: 1:35 p.m. – 2:25 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 1:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
One credit hour is given for this ensemble pending the audition (MUSC 290-501).
The Century Singers also have a small vocal ensemble called Century Sounds. Century Sounds is a small ensemble that is auditioned from within the Century Singers as needed. Any current member of Century Singers is encouraged to audition for this group.
